基本の疑問詞（who / what / when / where / why / how / which / whose）の意味を覚える
文を読むときも作るときも、「答えとして何を求めているか」で疑問詞を選びます。
人なら who、物事なら what、場所なら where、時なら when — 答える側がどんな情報を返せばいいかを考えると見分けやすくなります。

疑問詞が主語のとき / 目的語のときの語順の使い分けを覚える
who / what / which の疑問文は、疑問詞が主語か目的語かで語順が変わります。
主語を尋ねるとき（誰が / 何が）は、Who + 動詞 の形にして、do / does / did を使いません。現在形では、動詞を三人称単数の形（-s）にします。
目的語を尋ねるとき（誰を / 何を）は、Who / What の後ろを一般動詞の疑問文と同じ語順にします。
Who called? は「誰が電話してきた?」（主語 = Who）。Who did you call? は「誰に電話した?」（主語 = you、目的語 = Who）。
同じ Who でも、文中の役割で語順が完全に変わります。
How many / How long などで数や長さが聞けるようになる
How + 形容詞/副詞の形で、数・量・長さ・頻度・距離・年齢などの具体的な程度を尋ねられます。
How many / How much / How long などの組み合わせで、知りたい「どのくらい」の内容を細かく指定できます。

間違えやすいポイント

主語を尋ねるときは do/does を使いません。現在形では Who の直後に三人称単数形の動詞を続けます。
What time are you start?
What time do you start?
一般動詞（start）の疑問文には do を使います。be動詞の are ではなく do + 主語 + 動詞の原形 の語順です。

be動詞の疑問文では、be動詞を主語の前に移動させます。
Why did you went there?
Why did you go there?
did が過去を表すので、後ろの動詞は原形に戻します（went → go、What do you did? → What did you do? も同様）。

money は不可算名詞なので How many ではなく How much を使います。
