my / your / his / her など、「〜の」を表す所有格と、mine / yours などの所有代名詞を学ぶ。
所有格と所有代名詞とは、「誰の」「誰のもの」を表す表現です。
所有格（my, your, his など）は名詞の前に置いて「〜の」を表します。
所有代名詞（mine, yours, his など）は単独で「〜のもの」を表します。
所有格は、名詞の前に置いて「〜の」を表す言葉です。「誰の？」という質問に答えます。

ポイント
所有格は必ず名詞の前に置きます。単独では使えません。
所有代名詞は、名詞なしで「〜のもの」を表す言葉です。所有格＋名詞を1語で表せます。

所有代名詞は単独で使います。後ろに名詞を置くことはできません（× mine book）。
主格（I, you など）とセットで覚えましょう。

名詞に「〜の」を表すには 's か of を使います。
ポイント
• 人・動物 → 's を使う（Ken's book / the dog's tail）
• 物 → of を使うことが多い（the color of the car）
• 複数形で s で終わる語 → ' のみ（the students' room）

所有格 its と短縮形 it's は間違えやすいので注意しましょう。
• its = 所有格（それの）
