「読む」は英語で read。「read」の現在分詞（ing形）は「reading」(読んでいる・読み取っている・読書している)、三人称単数現在形は「reads」です。動詞として「読む、読み取る」の意味で使われます。進行形は be動詞 + reading の形で使います。
